WATER & SEWER MAINTENANCE II WATER & SEWER DEPARTMENT
The City of Chaska (Population 24,000) is accepting applications for a Water & Sewer Maintenance II Worker. This position is responsible for reading meters the first two weeks of the month. This position is also responsible for performing general water & wastewater maintenance work, such as repairing water main breaks, maintaining hydrants, valves, and other water facilities. This position is also responsible for performing backwashing, filter maintenance, testing and other duties assigned inside the water treatment plant. This position is also responsible for jetting and cleaning the sanitary sewer collection system, manholes, maintaining pumps, motors and other related equipment used with lift stations. This position will be on-call, on the current rotating system that is in place (Within 6 months of starting employment). This position is also responsible for assisting the Public Works Department with plowing snow or other duties as assigned. It is critical that this position is able to work well with others, and represent the City of Chaska in a professional manner.
The Water & Sewer Maintenance II Worker reports to the Water and Sewer Superintendent. Minimum qualifications include knowledge of the methods and materials used to repair and maintain water and wastewater systems. A Class A Minnesota commercial driver’s license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment is required. Certification in the water and/or wastewater field as administered by the State of Minnesota, and 2 years of working experience is desired. Starting wage is $17.12 – 19.66 per hour, plus benefits, depending on experience and qualifications.
